Daily Delivery

Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11

I worked as head receiver in the shipping department at a major retail outlet. I was responsible for checking in any products that came through the receiving doors. There were specific products requiring daily delivery because of the demand of those particular items. Bread was among these items in high demand. Bread must be fresh in order to sell well. There are different kinds of bread. There are loaves, buns, flatbreads, tortillas, rolls and biscuits.
Jesus said that we should pray for daily bread. He was referring to the word of God. God can give you a fresh word each day to meet the demands of life that you encounter each day. Just as there are diverse kinds of bread to be used with certain types of food, there is a distinct word that God can give you for each unique situation that you encounter in life.
I could count on the bread man to come precisely at 5am daily with a new bread delivery. Just know that you can count on God to bring you a fresh new word each day. He wants you to feed on his faithfulness. Whatever word he brings you is going to keep you through your circumstance. Everyday the Lord is coming with a fresh bite to eat.
